At DYT, auditions are used as a placement opportunity rather than a cut process. Our goal is to see each child’s strengths, personality, and performance style so we can place them in the role where they will be most successful, challenged, and able to shine. All who audition will be cast.

CHARACTERS
BEETLEJUICE
A mischievous, fast talking ghost with endless energy and a flair for chaos. Looking for a strong comedic actor/actress with a confident contemporary singing voice and excellent stage presence.
LYDIA DEETZ
A smart, sarcastic teenager who feels like she doesn't fit in. Looking for a strong actress with emotional depth and a powerful contemporary pop/rock singing voice.
ADAM MAITLAND
A kind hearted and optimistic ghost who simply wants a peaceful life. Looking for a warm, sincere actor with a warm, contemporary musical theater singing voice and strong storytelling ability.
BARBARA MAITLAND
Smart, caring, and unexpectedly funny. Looking for a strong actress with excellent comedic timing, emotional depth, and the ability to balance heart and humor. Confident singing voice.
CHARLES DEETZ
Lydia's father. A well meaning but overwhelmed parent trying to reconnect with his daughter. Looking for a strong actor and confident singer.

Our MainStage Minis are our youngest cast members and the perfect introduction to the exciting world of musical theatre! Whether your child is brand new to the stage or a seasoned little performer ready to grow their skills, Minis learn choreography, acting, and stage presence in a fun, supportive environment. Minis get the exciting opportunity to perform before the mainstage show, during intermission, and at curtain call, giving them a true taste of the magic of live theatre.
DELIA SCHLIMMER
An eccentric artist with a larger-than life personality. Looking for a bold comedic actress with a strong character voice and fearless stage presence.
OTHO
Delia's dramatic designer and self proclaimed paranormal expert. A hilarious character role for a confident actor with excellent comedic timing, strong stage presence, and bold character choices.
MAXIE AND MAXINE
Flashy entrepreneurs always looking for the next big opportunity. Looking for charismatic bold actors/actresses
MISS ARGENTINA
A glamorous, larger than life Netherworld resident who steals scene she's in. Looking for a strong singer who moves well, embraces character work, and loves performing with energy and confidence.
JUNO
Beetlejuice's intimidating Netherworld boss. Looking for a strong actress with commanding stage presence, excellent character work, and the confidence to take charge of every scene.
ENSEMBLE
The heart of the show! Looking for energetic actors, singers, and dancers who love creating memorable characters and bringing high energy to the stage. Parachute Jumper, Cheerleaders, Mobster, Jockey, Groom, Mourners, Sandworm, Movers, Cater Waiter, Lawyers, Girl Scouts, Beetlejuice Clones, Drill Team, Hunter with a Shrunken Head and more!
AUDITION REQUIREMENTS
(MainStage Cast Only)
Please prepare 16-32 bars (30–60 seconds) of a musical theatre song that showcases both your strengths as a performer and the character(s) you are most interested in playing. Choose material that highlights your personality, acting ability, and vocal style.
A live accompanist will not be provided. Please bring an instrumental backing track/karaoke track on a phone or tablet, downloaded and cued to the correct starting point.
Please also come dressed and ready to move in addition to singing, you will learn a short combination.
